An now independent hostel, previously YHA, in an old school building. Good rooms, sold as private rooms rather than dorms. Meals available only by arrangement for groups but good members kitchen. Also good pub next door with bar meals and restaurant ( food stops early on sundays) Water from bore hole so shower water pressure Limited. Bike storage, knowledgeable staff, fabulous walking. Small car park.

A real experience of what a YHA used to be. Historic building, open log fires, eccentric warden, basic but hearty breakfast. If you like YHA's then I strongly advise you try this one. Great pub very close by and lovely walking out of the door.

A fantastic hostel in an idyllic setting. Lovely former school house set in a wonderful garden with a stream at the bottom. A great pub 50m down the road and more footpaths and cycle routes locally than you can shake a stick at.

The welcome from Paul, the warden, paved the way for a couple of relaxing days at Bridges. It reminded us of many YHA visits from our youth. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was well equipped l, the dining room was huge and the outside space had loads of distractions (table tennis, table football, fire pit, huge slide & swings). Secure bike lock up and the Bridges pub 2 minutes walk away. We hiked miles around the area and only scratched the surface - we’ll be back. Thanks Paul.

Fantastic stay at this YH in Bridges, after a very wet wander over the Long Mynd from Church Stretton. Highlights included: Beers and a great dinner at The Bridges pub round the corner; The Drying Room 🙏; the real fire in the lounge; Paul, the warden, for his breakfast and being generally really helpful; the splendid isolation; and the beautiful Shropshire Hills.
